About me
I began my career in special education in 1996 and during my twenty-eight years in the field, I have held positions as a special education teacher, elementary school principal, an alternative education school principal and most recently, a special education administrator. During my career, I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of students and staff in K-12 settings with curriculum, trauma-informed practices, behavior strategies and best practices dealing with everything special education related.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. My passion is reading! In 2021, I obtained my certification in Orton-Gillingham. This achievement better equips me to identify and address the specific needs of students with Dyslexia and other reading disabilities as well as help teachers with best practice so we can teach all kids to read!
